Hi Brides,

 I’ve written about this many times and I’m going to do another post on it as I find brides getting annoyed with me.

 I have made a policy at Accapella Bridal, where, if your wedding is more than 12 months away, I will not book an appointment 

 There are a number of reasons why:

1. Bodies change and fluctuate for so many reasons and, this year with the backlog of weddings due to COVID-19,  I’ve found alterations to be excessive and a couple of dresses just couldn’t be worn. 
2. I run and own this bridal boutique on my own and do all the alterations on my own. I want to order the brides dress as close to their size as possible to minimise alterations for myself and extraneous costs for brides.
3. I have sold a total of 11 bridal gowns this year to brides who have purchased their gowns elsewhere and decided they didnt like them any more. I’ve asked them if they feel they purchased too early and 'Yes' was their answer 100% of the time.
4. Early this year, I had 5 brides who I said in their consultation 'It is too early for you to buy your dress for your March/ April/ May wedding. Before making a decision, come back at the end of July as I will have the new collection. Three of those brides went on to purchase a dress from the new collection rather than the dress they had originally thought they would purchase at their first appointment.
5. I’ve had brides enquiring for 2024--2025 weddings, wanting to just have a look. I take one-on-one consultations and do all the alterations myself so I can quality-control. Please respect my time as I need to be all-in for your consultation and feel the whole experience with you. I can’t be your best stylist when your wedding is too far away 

 So many brides email or ring me to complain that other bridal shops don’t have this policy. These brides are always cranky at me. The individual service I provide each and every one of my brides is built upon my experience in the industry. If you are not happy with the reasons why I choose to have certain guidelines and limitations, please feel free to buy at a boutique that better suits your expectations. 

I hope all these reasons make sense to my brides who are looking to book an appointment. Please know that this is a decision based around best-practice and I’m doing this for you and from the heart ❤
