Mum's wish to see her daughter get married
Hi Brides-To-Be,This is a story that I must share. I had a phone call from a bride three weeks ago who said she would be getting married on the 29th of March and needed to find a wedding gown. The tight time frame wasn't one Loretta chose - she explained that her mum isn't well. Loretta's mum has blood cancer and is going through intense treatment. She's been fighting the disease for some time, but like all of us, she wanted to make sure her mum was at her wedding day.
Loretta lives in Wyalla but that she would be in Wollongong on Thursday night. She didn't have the best experience in Adelaide, saying that a bridal shop wouldn't sell her the dress she loved, even after Loretta explained the circumstances. She described the dress to me and I asked her to describe her figure, so that I could match her up with a dress that would suit. Of the three gowns I chose, she liked all three so was sure that when she came to Accapella 2 days before the wedding, that she would be able to choose one that she would wear.
She came in and tried two dresses, the second was the winner. She loved it. I started to pin and took out the net underneath to suit Loretta's wish for a more relaxed skirt and I pinned where I needed to cut the train off. By 6:45pm she was on her way and I promised that I would have it ready the following night.
She came to pick up her wedding dress last night and chose a matching headpiece and earrings. Today she gets married and I just want to wish her and husband to be a big CONGRATULATIONS. Loretta, I hope this day is all that you want it to be.
I truly feel so honoured to be part of this special day.
