You don’t have to LOVE every aspect of the dress during your first appointment
Hi Brides,This post is a reminder that you don’t have to LOVE every aspect of the dress during your first appointment.
This bride is quite short in stature and has a very large bust. She tried on a number of dresses and was about to leave the boutique when I asked her again
what it was she didn’t like about the Justin Alexander 8822 - this design has a heavy lace overlay, a deep V neckline and a full structured bodice…perfect for framing a large bust and flowing gently over
a heavy hip area.
The bride admitted that it was the ‘boofiness’ of the skirt that she didn’t like. I convinced her to try the dress on a second time so that I could demonstrate
to her exactly how I could easily change the skirt to be more in-line with what she had envisaged for her bridal dress. I pinned the skirt to show
what it would look like if I removed all of the flare in the satin lining, and in the lace overlay. I removed the satin that extended down into the
train, leaving just the lighter lace. It was easy for her to visualise what the dress would look like once I had completed the alterations, and she
was happy to order.
As you can see from the before and after photographs, the dress is much softer on her figure, and much more flattering.
