Losing Weight before ordering your dress
Hi Brides-to-be,
This is a great story for brides who want to lose weight for their wedding and are not sure when to order their gowns.
Brooke came to see me in February of this year. During her consultation she told me she was hoping to lose 20 kilos. She wanted to know what size she should order for an intended weightloss of that size. I asked her to try on the Madi Lane Krysta style, which has strong vertical lines. The dress closures wouldnt do up, but she did love the style.
I stopped and asked if I could give her honest advice on what I would do if I were in her position. I looked at the production calendar, and counting back I worked out the latest time she needed to order her dress -- June would be the month where the bride would need to decide on both dress style and size. Wedding date 4th November 2023
I rang Madi lane on Monday, to ask if I could have the trunk show gowns a week early, as I knew this bride was coming in on Friday and that there was a style I desperately wanted her to try on.
I sent the bride a text and it turns out she's lost 23 kilos! 🎉
Brooke arrived for her appointment looking fabulous. She tried on the new gown from the Baciami collection, as well as the original dress, the Krysta. It was so great to see her fit into the dress she'd originally tried on and how it looked exactly as we had both envisaged it BUT she felt sexier in the dress from the trunk show! What a fabulous outcome ... she's ordered in the correct size so will save on alterations, she owns a dress from the newest collection, and she looks fantastic. Thank you so much for listening to my advice!
I'm still sticking to my 12-month policy; if your wedding is more than 12 months away there is no need for an appointment.
