The Dress with the Bows...or without
The Dress With The Bows...or not.
This dress is one of those gowns that is so much more flattering on the body than it looks online.
She has a beautiful square neckline, which is amazing for a bustier bride because you still get the support of straps while keeping the neckline clean and modern. The bows are sewn on, but they can easily be unpicked and removed if you prefer a more simple look.
What I really love about the cut of this gown is the princess panel lines that run from the neckline all the way down through the skirt. There is no waist seam and no hip seam, so the gown flows beautifully from top to bottom in one seamless A-line shape.
This is what makes her so flattering.
For an apple-shaped bride, the panels help create the illusion of hips and shape.
For a pear-shaped bride, the soft A-line skims and flatters the hips without cutting across the body.
For a petite bride, the uninterrupted vertical lines help lengthen the body because there is no seam breaking up the silhouette.
It is such an easy, figure-flattering gown and honestly well worth trying on. I have my sample in a size 18, and it truly looks even better on the body than it does in photos.
Perfect for the bride who wants something elegant, supportive and beautifully flattering.
The dress' official name is D4450 by Essense of Australia, but of course Alison has a nickname for her...'Bows'.
